Katherine Worthington

Stone Carver & Sculptor

Birmingham Town Hall

2005 - Birmingham, UK.

Birmingham's iconic town hall was extensively restored. The architectural stone blocks were carved out of hard and brittle stone, Anglesey (Abba) and Salterwath limestone. The main carving works was to the modillion stones under the main arch and the Corinthian capitals.

Katherine carved and installed new modillion scroll sections, volutes and acanthus leaves to the main capitals.

The interest in her work and the restoration project led her to be recorded on Birmingham's local radio.
